Here is a stunning image of “The Mice”, which are basically two colliding galaxies that are entwined in a fascinating celestial cat-mouse like movement.

It was captured by the Advanced Camera for Surveys inside Hubble, and this pair of galaxies is situated around 300 million light years away in Coma Berenices, a constellation. This pair of galaxies was given the name of “The Mice” due to the long tails of gas and stars that surround them.

Experts believe that these two colliding galaxies will eventually become one massively large galaxy.

The NGC 2440 is a star much similar to the Sun, and it appears to be driving itself to death by emitting away its outer gaseous layers, which are creating a swaddle around what remains of its core.

The white dot visible in the center is a burned out star, known as the white dwarf. This burned out star radiates ultraviolet light that cause it to glow brightly.

The Antennae is a pair of colliding galaxies that are on the verge of a merger. When they bump into one another, they give birth to billions of star clusters. They create super star clusters, which are one of the brightest and vibrant of stars created across the galaxy.
